Senior & Junior High
The student ministry of Camelback Bible Church is made up of junior high and senior high students from across the Valley. Our name, EXCEL, helps to define who we are and what our purpose is as a ministry. 1 Thessalonians 4:1 encourages us to “EXCEL in a life that is pleasing to God.” While the world encourages youth to live life for themselves, our call as young Christians is to live wholeheartedly for God. After all, this is what life is all about! It is our aim to point students to Jesus Christ so that they might discover and live this new life in Him.
To accomplish this goal, the many students in EXCEL meet together around God's Word, in prayer, in music, and in service. EXCEL meets weekly on Wednesdays from 6:45-8:30 PM in Fellowship Hall and during both service hours on Sunday mornings. In addition, smaller discipleship groups meet throughout the Valley at various times of the week. EXCEL also plans several activities throughout the year, including an out-of-town winter retreat for junior high students, a winter retreat/ski trip for high schoolers, and a week-long summer camp.
If you are a student who wants to participate, or an adult who wants to serve in EXCEL, please contact our Student Ministries Pastor, Bill Pinalto or visit www.excelministry.com.
College Ministry
Of all the things we are involved with in college, the most valuable is to learn and do the things which will make us more like Christ. The College Ministry seeks to be a cutting edge, dynamic group. We hope to do that by welcoming in new people, engaging and equipping us all to live as Jesus taught, and sending us into our campuses, communities and even to the ends of the earth to make a real difference. Ministry opportunities include:
Thursday nights – We meet at Delnoce's home every week at 7 PM for worship and discussion of God’s word in an informal atmosphere where we strive to make the Bible relevant and engaging in our daily lives. It is a good time and great place to hang out and get to know other collegians. Warning! The truth is unleashed every week! BYOB (Bring Your Own Brain).
Small groups and prayer partners – Stay connected with one another through our small group bible studies and/or our prayer partners.
Social events – We have a fairly regular calendar of planned and spontaneous social events such as BBQs, broom ball, adventures in dining and parties.
Mission trips – We have participated in a variety of summer mission trips – to the Philippines, Sudan, Honduras and Uganda. In the future, we hope to continue to play an active role in such trips, including taking the opportunity to go help with the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts continuing in Louisiana.
Ski retreat – This annual event is a great way to bring in the New Year with 40 (or more!) of your fellow collegians. Five days of oh-so-sweet boarding/skiing in Durango, Colorado and great preaching from God’s Word. It is one of the highlights of the year.
