Joy Bauerlein, Office Manager

(Email Joy Bauerlein)

Joy came to CBC in August 2004, when she moved from Wheaton, IL to Tempe, AZ. It had been a dream of hers to someday move to AZ to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Bryce Morgan and (at that time) two precious grandchildren, Laurel and Aidan. At last, in God’s perfect timing, Joy and her father, Charles Gray, made the trip west. If you talk with her for any length of time at all, you will most likely hear her say that she is “in Grandma Heaven!”

Joy was blessed to grow up in a godly home in the suburbs of Chicago. The church has always been Joy’s home away from home, and music has always played a huge part in her life. From early childhood on, she participated in choirs, ensembles, and every youth event possible. After high school, Joy went on to Moody Bible Institute, graduating with a diploma from their Christian-Education/Music program.

Life had been easy growing up – quite sheltered, even. But God does His best work in the tough times, and Joy had to learn how to lean on God moment by moment, as He has gone with her through many deep waters in her adult life. God was, and remains, faithful! Christ’s words in II Corinthians 12:9 are a reassuring foundation for Joy: “My grace is sufficient for you; my strength is made perfect in (your) weakness.

Truly, God has been Joy’s strength – and His grace has abounded! It is her delight to give back to Him, Who has given her so much. It is with God’s amazing strength that she applies herself to the many challenges she faces as Camelback Bible Church’s Office Manager. Having 20+ years experience in Administrative Assistant/Office Manager roles in “Corporate America”, Joy is thrilled to be able to use God’s gifts in the refreshing Christian surroundings of our church office. In addition to her “day job”, she feels abundantly blessed to be able to sing in the adult choir and play handbells with the Genesis Ringers.

One of Joy’s favorite verses is Psalm 18:1, 2 “I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in Whom I take refuge."
