Betty Anderson, Administrative Assistant
(Email Betty Anderson) Betty Anderson (“Miss Betty”), came to Camelback Christian School September of 1999 after moving from the Chicago area where she went to school at Moody Bible Institute and belonged to Willowcreek Community Church. Prior to Camelback, Betty worked for many years as a Trade Analyst for a Johnson Family (S.C. Johnson Wax) called Johnson Worldwide, where she was a part of the fishing/marine group. When Betty heard about an opening at Camelback Christian School working as the assistant to the director, considering it a special opportunity God was calling her to. Betty’s church home is Scottsdale Bible Church, and for many years she was a hospice volunteer with Odyssey (Dignita) Healthcare. Betty has been making quilts the last few years with two other women from SBC, for church members going on short mission trips, plus Neighborhood Ministries here in Phoenix. These quilts are passed out to orphanages, schools, and churches. She also belongs to Reap What You Sew making comfort quilts for hospice, children’s crises centers, hospitals, etc. The group, a ministry of First Christian Church, generally makes 700-800 quilts a year. Betty, and her husband of 48 years, Bob, have four children (three living in Phoenix), five grandchildren, and two spoiled rotten dogs (her words) called Happy and Brandy. Betty was born in Pocatello, Idaho, and how she went from Idaho to a life in Chicago is a story for another day. Betty says it is not possible to pick just one favorite scripture verse, but the following verses were very important when she first began her personal relationship with the Christ, Jesus. We are redeemed through His blood: Ephesians 1:7: “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.” We have a place prepared for our eternity: John 14:1-4: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” He is faithful: Lamentations 3:22-23: “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
