Vermon began serving at CBC in December of 2002. Born in the Brooklyn area of New York City, Vermon grew up in northern New Jersey.
Vermon has one younger sister, and is the first generation of his family born in the United States. Both of his parents were born in Haiti.
Graduating from Princeton University in 1997 with a degree in History, and a concentration in Middle Eastern history, Vermon went on to Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He graduated from Trinity with a Master of Divinity degree in 2002.
Currently, Vermon serves CBC as the lead pastor of Roosevelt Community Church, a new church plant of CBC in downtown Phoenix.
Vermon cites Philippians 2:12-13 as his favorite passage of Scripture “Therefore my dear friends, as you have always obeyed - not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence - continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.”
