Serving with SEMBEQ as President in Quebec Canada
Also in Charge of ... Leadership Training for Church Planting
MINISTRY
In 1978, one year after he had become a believer, François was asked by his pastor to consider the work of the ministry. He began his theological training as he was serving in his church. In 1987, he began pastoring the Granby Church in Canada. God blessed. Many people came to know Christ and were trained in the church.
In 1998 François accepted the call to SEMBEQ (Séminaire Baptiste Evangélique au Québec) trains pastors and lay people within the local church setting. They are trained in the areas of theology, evangelism, discipling, and leadership.
Some are sent to the ends of the world. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…teaching them to observe all that I commanded you."
Matthew 28:19a, 20a
Currently François is the Leadership Coordinator and is working full-time with SEMBEQ.
How to Pray for the Picards:
1. Pray for protection and health for their family
2. Pray for wisdom in all the decisions I have to make regarding his ministry with Quebec and the Emmanuel Church.
3. Pray for 100 new workers for 30 new churches in this decade.
To reach Quebec's francophone population, we train leaders in the local church like Paul and Timothy. By the grace of God we have planted an average of two churches a year since 1930.

Country Profile:
The population in Canada, in the year 2006, was about 21,616,000. Of these people, 22.1% have French as a mother tongue. Approximately 85% of Canada's francophone's live in the province of Quebec, but others live in northern Ontario, in the Ottawa Valley, and in northern New Brunswick (the so-called "French Shore". Only 0.7% - half of 1% - of Canada's francophone's are evangelical Christians, which makes Canada's French-speaking population the "most un-reached mission field in North America". This is our mission field and where we serve as a mission.
According to research done by Outreach Canada, the need for new churches in Quebec is 55% greater, on a per capita basis, than to English Canada.
French Canada is ready for the harvest!
