We were created to be in a world characterized by community with one another and with God. But sin has come and affected our ability to be in community in these ways. The results have been devastating as all around us we see communities lost to the power and beauty of Christ. Through Christ, however, reclamation is possible. He has redeemed for Himself a new people, and sends this people out into the world to display and promote this new community in the broken communities where we all live. All men of God have been enlisted by Christ for Operation: Reclamation. Come and learn with other men what that means.

Our Speaker

Patrick T. Smith is Assistant Professor of Theology and Philosophy at Gordon-Conwell Seminary. Previous positions were held at Michigan Theological Seminary, Wayne State University, and William Tyndale College among others. Patrick holds a B.S. from Auburn University, an M.Div. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and an M.A, Ph. D. candidate from Wayne State University.

Patrick has given numerous seminars and professional presentations on issues in the philosophy of religion, moral philosophy, clinical ethics, and bioethics and theology at professional meetings, national and regional conferences, in various health care organizations, on radio, and on college and university campuses.

Along with his teaching and speaking he has published articles, essays, and critical reviews of books in journals such as Philosophia Christi, Christian Scholar's Review, Ethics and Medicine, Trinity Journal, The Africanus Journal, and Modern Reformation.

Patrick's academic credentials have provided a solid foundation for his missional endeavors. Over the years he has served by providing theological education for pastors and leaders in Zambia, Africa, through extensive involvement in Hospice and Palliative Care Centers, and by engagement in cross-cultural ministry with various ethnic groups.

Patrick is a family man. He has been married to his wife since 1998. He and his wife are proud parents of two beautiful children. He enjoys listening to classic jazz and watching baseball and college football.

He brings to us a topic (Reclaiming Communities) that is near and dear to his heart. He hopes to bless us by sharing much of what the Lord has taught him on this vital subject.
