(Email Pastor Brent)
Brent began his pastoral ministry at CBC in May of 2007 and is thankful to be a pastor in a church that is "bringing Christ to the city and bringing the city to Christ." He was raised in a Christian family and was blessed at a young age to see his desperate need for Jesus.
In January of 2008, Brent married up! In his words, Sarah a.k.a. Sari is "the most amazing, Godly, beautiful, and funny woman in the world." They love being in the CBC family and want Jesus to be displayed through their marriage and ministry. They are now parents of Elliot Maxwell (born February 2010) whom they affectionately call, "the stinky."
Brent graduated from Arizona State University in May of 2005 where he received a B.S. in Business Management. While he was studying at ASU and working in banking, he was also serving as a volunteer small group leader to junior high boys at East Valley Bible Church in Gilbert. During his five years as a small group leader, he felt God calling him to pastoral ministry. This call was affirmed by his Elders at EVBC when he was asked to be trained for pastoral ministry. Three years later, he graduated from The Training Center (EVBC’s church-based seminary). During his time at The Training Center, Brent developed a friendship with Pastor Bill Pinalto who was the Youth Pastor at CBC and was also being trained at The Training Center. As he developed this relationship, he had the opportunity to speak for a CBC junior high winter retreat; this is where he first began to see Camelback as a place that loves Jesus Christ and esteems the Word of God.
In May 2007, the Elders at Camelback asked Brent to serve the students and families at Camelback Bible Church and commissioned him to make an impact for the kingdom of God in the Phoenix area. Brent is now furthering his training and is working toward a Masters of Divinity at Phoenix Seminary.
One of Brent’s favorite verses is from Philippians 3:8 which says, "Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord…"
