Concerning ‘Upward and Outward’
A message from Dr. Timothy Savage, senior pastor
God has a plan for this world. And we – the brothers and sisters of the family of God at Camelback Bible Church – sit at the epicenter of that plan.
We are called to image the glory of God, among ourselves and to our community, by reproducing in our relationships the self-giving love of the Triune Family.
This extraordinary truth was unveiled in The Plan, a sermon series at the end of the last quarter.
But we must ask the question: Exactly how does the family at Camelback reproduce the love of the Triune Family? Are there general ways to do it? Or are there distinctive ways unique to our gifting at CBC?
Do we need a specific kind of biblical training, a heightened commitment to prayer, a new resolve for outreach, a particular set of buildings?
What is the strategic vision for implementing The Plan?
In the next nine weeks, we will flesh out answers to this question, setting out a biblical template for our church over the next three years.
Nothing could be more exciting: the work of the local church is simply the greatest work of all, imaging the glory of Christ to a world of darkness.
Here’s how to prepare for this remarkable journey.
Please join the church family every Lord’s Day over the next two months. Each Sunday will build on the last and prepare for the next. If you must miss a Sunday, please listen to the sermon during the week.
And after worship services, work through the study questions for the sermon, as well as praying thorugh the 40 Day Prayer Journal that begins on February 15th.
Thanks be to God for working his magnificent plan among us and through us for his glory!
Please join all of us each Sunday for the next few months to learn more about God's vision for us, Camelback Bible Church!
