Carmen Benford, Nursery
Carmen first started at CBC in September of 1978. She was born and grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico, the eighth of nine children.
Before staying home to raise her children, Carmen earned her degree in Elementary Education and taught for several years. Carmen is married to CBC elder Cory Benford and they have four children – Courtnee (19), Casey (15), Caree (10), and Cailee (6).
In addition to her service to CBC as Deaconess of the CBC Nursery, Carmen is involved in the choir ministry and Children’s Church ministry.
Carmen first came to know the Lord through the A.S.U. Navigator ministry. She was asked to translate John 1 for a young woman from Mexico City and while translating the prayer for her salvation, prayed for her own as well.
One of Carmen’s favorite verses is Psalm 37:4,5 “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in Him, and He will do it.”
Meredith Bentley, Children's Education
Meredith began attending Camelback with her husband and children in 1995. She was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, and has been married to husband John for 23 years. They have three children, William – 18, Mary Margaret– 16, and Miller, 13.
In addition to her service to CBC as Deaconess of Children’s Education, Meredith served as a Vacation Bible School Co-Director and now coordinates the 4-6 year old Children’s Church.
One of Meredith’s favorite verses is Joshua 1:9, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Beccy Jones, Women's Ministry
Beccy and her husband Dave, with their children Michael and Kelsey, have attended Camelback Bible since 1990. For the past five years, Beccy has served as a Deanconess of the Women's Ministries, giving leadership to the Women's Ministries, teaching Bible studies and discipling women.
She supports her husband as a small group leader and teacher of "Laying the Foundation" new believers’ class. Her husband is also a member of the elder board. Michael their son and his wife, Adrienne are establishing their home in Mesa and their daughter Kelsey(19) is a student at ASU.
Beccy's passion and commitment is to love her Lord with all her heart, soul, mind and strength and to love others by serving them, teaching God's Word and discipling women to be faithful and obedient disciples of Jesus Christ.
Lisa Savale, Aerobics Ministry
Lisa first began attending CBC when she was in high school. She grew up in the Scottsdale area and attended a local high school and university. Married to husband Chuck, Lisa and Chuck have two sons, Scot (24) and Mark (20).
Lisa is a certified aerobics instructor and has been involved in the aerobics ministry for 16 years. In addition to serving as Deaconess for the Aerobics Ministry, Lisa is involved with the women’s ministry, Vacation Bible School, leading music for a Sunday Morning Adult Fellowship Class and the college ministry.
One of Lisa’s favorite Scripture passages is I Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
