Serving with TEAM
Her vision is to reach out to the next generation for God. It is so important to pass on the knowledge of God to the next generation, especially our kids from Christian homes. That is why I have a heart for working with children and teens.
To minister to MKs by helping them grow closer to God as well as to serve God with the unique gifts they have been given. Mks face certain challenges living between two cultures, but they are also given unique experiences and opportunities that give them such potential to serve God where He has placed them. My desire it to be a positive influence and mentor in these kids’ lives.
To support pastors and other missionaries serving on the front lines in Spain. One of the most common reasons that missionaries need to return to the States before they have finished their ministry is because of their children’s education. While some MKs do well in the Spanish schools, others struggle academically, socially and spiritually in such a setting. Having an English-speaking Christian school not only helps them academically, but encourages their walk with the Lord as well-
To be a witness to my Spanish neighbors and community. God calls us to be a witness to the ends of the earth, and I want to be able to reach out to my neighbors and community. This is why I will be attending language school before I start to teach.
What will this look like?
Serving at ECA I had the privilege of meeting the directors of Evangelical Christian Academy during a mission’s conference in France during the summer of 2003. That is where I first heard of the school, and how God started leading me to Spain. I will be teaching French, which is the area of my certification, but there may also be opportunities to teach other subjects such as German or Art, depending on the need of that school year. The majority of my time will be spent at the school, teaching students, as well as building relationships with them and encouraging them in their walk with the Lord. Some teachers have Bible studies for students at their home after school and other do one-on-one discipleship. There are opportunities for students and teachers to reach out to the community together, such as the Friday evening tradition of passing out flyers and witnessing in downtown Madrid.
